What happens when a local business, a dedicated service club, and a generous community team up? Incredible things for our town. During the recent Customer Appreciation Day at Godard’s Independent, the grocery store grounds turned into a bustling community barbecue with a great cause. Owners Pina and Kevin stepped up in a massive way, generously supplying and donating everything, from the food to the supplies, needed to host the event.
With the food provided, our Rotary Club members fired up the grills and got to work cooking it up for everyone who stopped by. The community’s response was nothing short of amazing. Visitors generously donated a total of $1,340 at the barbecue. To maximize the impact of your generosity, the Rotary Club matched that amount dollar-for-dollar, bringing the grand total to $2,680.
Every single penny of that $2,680 has been donated directly to the Meaford Food Bank to help support local families.
